Farming unfortunately has to be done on a piece of land(this is basic). How ever unless you are staying in a rented premise, backyard free range poultry would start you off.
In addition start small as per your financial capability. If poultry keeping I believe where you stay there's unused space where even small poultry cage can fit. If horticulture then hydroponic technology with local assembled materials can do. Sometimes we may not need land to grow vegetables etc
