Most farmers are struggling to sell eggs for improved kienyeji chicken just because of shell color and not the yolk color. Improved kienjeji are also scavengers and lay big brownish eggs with yellow yolk. To increase egg production one has to venture into improved kienyeji but the eggs are not consumers favorite in most part. It is high time we convince consumers that shell color should not be a limiting factor they rather see the yolk color and get opportunity to consume the eggs same as pure kienyeji eggs.
