The main reason we should utilize such platforms as this , So we can help one another to identify those who are bringing in eggs here from outside country and to find out if they are authorized to through veterinary certification form the DVS.
Layers mash goes past Ksh. 3100 for a 70- kilogramme bag, Kienyeji mash retails at around Sh1,800 per 70 kilogramme.. Hii ndio tunaita Throat cutting ?

We need to start working together to start saving costs. I hope this platform will help organize this and help go in the right direction.

Has the government done anything to protect the from imports? Also I am just curious, what is the typical cost for 70kg of feeds in Uganda?
In uganda or Tanzania the farmers work smart, they make their own feeds and in addition the raw materials are cheap, very very cheap. Example sunflwer seed cake is almost free in Tanzania almost every farmer is producing sunflower and they farm huge tracks of maize fields(land is not an issue). Meaning on poultry feed resources they have less stress and production cost very low. Way to go is kenyan farmers to work in groups and obtain feed resouces from This two countries. Going it alone might be very expensive.

@Ann W , I got the news the egg prices are slowly moving up now. I got a friend who sells hers at Wangige Market and she confirmed. It is good to hear from our friends here how other markets are performing in the country.
